American soccer player Alex Morgan teamed up with Nationwide to appear in a spot during the Women's World Cup on FOX. Part of a larger campaign called "Band Together," the spots show Americans across the country donning Morgan's signature pink headband in a show of support. The campaign also used social media and additional online videos, to build excitement and hype throughout the tournament.
We created an extended version of the spot that Alex shared on her social channels before the US games.
We also created a behind the scenes video to give fans a peek behind the curtain of the charming Alex Morgan on set.
We encouraged Alex's fans to share their messages and photos of support for Alex and the USWNT by using #BANDTOGETHER. Users sharing the hashtag throughout the tournament were incentivized by the opportunity to win signed Alex Morgan merchandise. The pink headband movement went viral as posts came in across Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
We created GIFS and cinamagraphs from our behind the scenes footage as well as footage from the spot. Nationwide shared the content socially throughout the World Cup to keep up the social momentum and support.
